My client is currently looking for an experienced Project Engineering Manager to support development of a number of projects aimed at not only developing new products but key processes and procedures within the Technology Group. Main ResponsibilitiesCompetent at managing and leading a multi-discipline Engineering Team projectsCompetent at Project Scope managementFamiliar with project work sequence, activities and deliverables for Engineering Disciplines at any project phase with knowledge and understanding of a TRL ProcessAble to generate and authorise key documents including those directing Engineering strategy and implementationEnsures instructions are issued to allow work to progress and facilitates agreement between conflicting requirements and leads way forwardAble to challenge working method and deliverables and ensures project team know and comply with project scopeDevelops and manages the engineering input to the project schedule and drives the Engineering Team to comply with the requirements, meet milestones and Key Performance IndicatorsEnsures that requirements for Design Verification are identified, scheduled and resourcedUnderstands the project Health, Safety, Environment and Security issues and ensures these are handled correctlyIdentifies risk and implements mitigationsHas the ability to deputise for the Technology manager as and when required Additional ResponsibilitiesAdministration and reporting of resource request and management systemDrive continuous improvement Key Relationships and InterfacesLine Manager for day-to-day directionEngineering, R&D team, Product, application teams and Manufacturing Academic Qualifications or Key KnowledgeBachelor's degree in Scientific or Engineering (preferred); other technical qualifications considered Skills & Experience5+ years in Engineering or project management role ideally in high tech product with exposure to manufacturing proof of concept trials, industrialisation & release to Manufacturing Project Excellence - Promoting wide project stakeholder engagement and facilitating open and honest communications. Ensuring projects are appropriately planned, managed, executed, fully documented and all necessary records are maintained.Experience of technical specification writing, project reporting, KPI development, budget control and risk managementThe candidate needs excellent problem-solving skills and must possess and be able to demonstrate a flair for creativity and innovationMust be able to work on their own initiative and demonstrate flexible organisational, time management and prioritisation skills, between multiple projectsAbility & willingness to work under pressure and to tight timescalesExperience of CE / UL machinery safety standards would be advantageousGood written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels Willingness to travel, up to 30% (desirable)Languages:EnglishMandarin (desirable) BehavioursGoal OrientatedOrganisational awareness and commitmentPlanning and OrganisingOpen, Flexibility and AdaptabilityInitiative and Ability to work under pressureTeamwork My client is offering salary up to £50,000 with a generous benefits package depending on experience.
