Health, Safety Advisor - High Hazard - Competitive Salary -Southend-on-SeaWe are currently recruiting for an Health & Safety Advisor working for a global Defence & Engineering organisation on a permanent basis in Southend-on-Sea.Within this role you will be providing competent and professional health, safety and occasional environmental advice.

The role will drive a step change in the safety culture across the business contributing to improved safety performance. Whats on offer?Salary up to £48,000 Great career progression working within a leading Defence & Technology businessGenerous benefits package (Flexible Working Hours, Pension Scheme, Child Care Vouchers)Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:Provide competent and technical health, safety and occasional environmental advice and guidance to business management working in partnership with assurance managersSupport practical implementation and delivery of HS&E legislation, policy, strategy and objectivesPromote a positive and innovative safety culture, seeking and contributing to the Safe for Life programme, and engaging with business management to ensure lessons learned are understood and embeddedSupport and assist with the assessment of risksParticipate constructively in the preparation and conduct of management reviewsLiaise with customers, enforcement authorities, HS&E professional bodies, insurance or audit companies, as requiredQualification/ Skills & Attributes: The ability to promote and deliver a culture of continuous improvement.The ability to identify problem areas in the business and take remedial action in a flexible, supportive and pro-active manner.Able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholdersExperience, post qualification, as a health and safety practitioner.Working knowledge and experience of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 management systems.NEBOSH Diploma or equivalentCMIOSH or working towards CPDIf you would like to be considered for the position please submit an application or contact Sarah Kesaulija on 01179 309 708
