The Design Manager Opportunity:
Design Manager overseeing a team of CAD Technicians of varying experience
+ Responsible for providing all technical information and support required to the CAD department to produce PV drawings for new build developers and commercial buildings.
+ Providing guidance to the design and compliance team on variations of design to ensure that we are fully protected and compliant at all times
+ Monitor and manage CAD department to achieve daily workload of designs as required by Sales and Operations department.
+ Approve/spot check drawings to maintain quality being produced.
+ Innovate design procedure to ensure efficient production of all designs and drawings.
+ Ensure that while volume increases, head count doesn't.
Weekly/Daily tasks:
+ Design related support to the CAD team on all aspects of Solar PV systems including all types of roof installation, mounting systems, string designs and electrical configurations.
+ Managing designed vs as built drawing library.
+ Approving all changes to design and implementing process for sign off.
+ Providing guidance to the Design Team on all mounting systems for setting out.
Monthly tasks:
+ Provide monthly product training to the Design Team according to industry and manufacturers standards.
+ Manage CAD team KPI's and workload allocation.
What we're looking for:
+ Experience in a design management role
+ Management experience in leading a team of people
+ Ability to constantly innovate and set best practises to the Design Team
+ Knowledge of solar PV systems preferable
+ Be trustworthy and share the company values (Innovation, Trust, Fairness and Excellence).
+ Solar PV design installation guide course desirable
+ Understanding of the construction industry desirable
