TAKE A WORLD-CLASS DIGITAL GOVERNMENT TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Why us, why now?
This is an unprecedented time for digital, data and technology in the UK government. Countries like the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are modelling their digital transformation on ours. Why? Because we're putting user needs at the heart of digital development to make government work better for everyone. We're 17,000 colleagues across government, and we're scaling up nationwide. Our new cloud model is giving us unparalleled agility and bravery to ensure government is equipped and inspired to deliver real, meaningful change. The potential to shape our society's future is enormous - and we want you to be part of it.
About the role
As our Senior Assurance Manager, you will oversee relationships within BEIS and across government bodies. You'll ensure the visibility of all current committed and future spend on digital and technology. And, you'll secure both challenge and approval of digital and technology activity, including identifying and agreeing actions to improve compliance. You'll also be part of the BEIS community of Digital Service Standard assessors. We'll rely on you to provide advice and guidance to stakeholders, and you'll also support our partners in developing their understanding and capability around the government's Digital Service Standard. Crucially, you'll be an advocate for what we do, facilitating engagement with other areas of BEIS and wider government. And, you'll share the benefits of relevant learnings from other service teams to inform our approach.
What we're looking for
You've previously worked in a programme and project management role. And, you're familiar with agile development methodologies and processes (SCRUM and Kanban, for example). You have experience of large-scale transactional environments, as well as
working with a user-centered design function. Plus, you understand digital procurement within the public sector environment. You're familiar with the Government Digital and Technology agenda, including the Digital Service Standard, and transforming technology (as outlined in the Government Service Design Manual).
Help shape a truly digital government
If you're excited by an ever-evolving technological landscape and a fast-moving digital change agenda, this is a fantastic opportunity to apply your skills to do what matters. Here, you'll be helping us respond to the changing needs and expectations of millions of people, delivering services that are simpler, faster and easier to use. And in return, you'll enjoy the fantastic range of benefits the Civil Service has to offer.
