Senior Finance Analyst (Planning & Reporting) - Nottingham - Initial 3-month contract Our client in the utilities industry requires a Senior Finance Analyst (Planning & Reporting) with strong Financial performance forecasting, financial controls and reporting experience. This role is based in Nottingham on an initial 3-month contract. The role: You will be responsible for the end-to-end financial performance forecasting, reporting and financial controls

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:The end-to-end financial performance forecasting, reporting and financial controls.Leading the analysis, interpretation and communication of actual performance against financial plans. To do this, you will need to have knowledge of the business and its project pipeline and working closely with multiple stakeholders across the organisation.Decision making, leading the preparation of financial forecasts and informing business strategiesProviding insight and analysis for gross margin, controllable costs, capital expenditure and Full Time Equivalent (FTE) and operational metrics.Creating different scenario positions to help identify different forecast or plan outcomes to assist with meeting top down targets.Driving efficiency changes in the reporting process.Liaising with stakeholders at all levels to improve information feeds to finance.Developing comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, covering financial and operational measures, building finance as a strong controlling function.Building and maintaining relationships with the accounting centre service provision to facilitate the month end and other process cycles.Consolidating financial planning and reporting for the business area with an EBIT of £90m and SF cost base of £130mOptimising processes and tool set development to ensure maximum efficiency

Key Skills: A fully qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with relevant post qualification experienceStakeholder engagement and third-party management experienceExcellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and present it in a clear and logical formatExcellent levels of financial and commercial acumenProven success of delivering and improving core finance processes including management accounting, forecasting and reportingExcellent communication, influencing, presentation and interpersonal skillsAn ability to support decision makers consistently and produce high quality work to strict deadlinesAn ability to work independently, initiate and deliver changeAn ability to drive imaginative solutions to problems and challenge conventional business thinking with an innovative approach.
