Information Security Analyst

One of our public sector clients is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join their West Midlands based team. You will be required to provide guidance and advice on Information Security and Risk matters, ensuring the implementation of all necessary policies, procedures and processes to achieve compliance.

You will support the maintenance of the internal Information Security register, investigating any reported incidents, and making suggestions to prevent the same incident re-occurring. This role is a 12 month FTC and any applicants must be willing to work on this basis.

Information Security Analyst duties will include, but not limited to:

*Identify and manage threats to and any vulnerability of the Information Systems and assets

*Implementing processes and techniques used to verify compliance against security policies and standards, as well as legal and regulatory requirements

*Review and produce policies of best practice for the on-going management and maintenance of Information Security manager

*Support the Information Security programme, enabling accreditation and compliance with mandatory Information Security requirements and reporting standards

*Inspect and survey Information Security audit and compliance activity ensuring the physical and data security of all Information Systems and Information Assets

*Coordinate investigative and reporting action of all actual and suspects incidents of security significance

*Prepare and deliver basic Information Security training, education and awareness

As the Information Security Analyst you will be required to possess:

*A strong working knowledge of Information Technology Standards and Techniques

*Knowledge of HMG Security Policy Framework

*Ability to show a good understanding of Information Security concepts and practices

*Recognised Information Security qualification; CISM / CISSP / CCP

*Previous experience supervising Information Security within a multi-site organisation

*Experience developing Information Security policies and procedures

*Previous experience utilising and managing a risk based approach to undertaking internal audits and accreditation activities

*Experience leading meetings with both internal and external stakeholders at a senior level

With a salary on offer of up to £39,000 this is a fantastic opportunity to play an integral part in the Information Security of an organisation.
