The Role:
As a systems engineer you will you will be a Subject Matter Expert for the design, support, and maintenance of Phoenix's local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other networking systems.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for but not limited to work as part of a team to provide day to day proactive and reactive support for all of the company's local and wide area network components, and security devices:
*Routing (OSPF, BGP, HSRP/VRRP)
*Switching (VLANs, ACLs, sFlow, STP, Trunking, MAC Auth etc)
*Firewalls (IPSEC VPNs, Proxy services, Anti-Spoofing, IPS/IDS, Natting)
*AAA (Radius, MAC Auth, accounting)
*Load Balancers
*Wireless Access Points
*SIP Telephony
*Providing the necessary technical support with Cisco, Huawai, Checkpoint, ASA, and Forcepoint in a multi-vendor environment.
*Coordinate with any third party vendors to escalate issues where applicable.
*Maintain and create technical documentation.
*The ability to find solutions to complex technical issues across multiple levels.
*Provide out of hours on call as part of a on-call rota.
*Follow procedures and processed within an ITIL and ISO compliant environment.
Skills and Experience Required:
*Cisco switching and routing firewalls.
*Experience with load balancing technology, ASA, checkpoints, Huawei and Forcepoint.
*LAN and WAN networking.
*Any Microsoft Certified Systems engineer qualifications with Cisco, Huawei, checkpoint, Forcepoint or equivalent network or security would be highly desirable.
*Effective communication both written and verbal to team members and third party providers.
*Prior experience working in as a systems engineer or in a similar role.
*Subject Matter Expert for all network components in a multi-tier, multi-vendor network environment (Data, Voice and Security)
*Experience working for a large organisation in a similar environment where there can be plenty of challenges and complexities to face.
Benefits:
Starting salary of £43,000 - £53,000 depending on experience plus:
*Up to 20% Annual Bonus Scheme
