My client a leading retail company are looking to hire a Senior Java Developer due to growth due to demand. The Java Developer will be involved all aspects of the software development life cycle but specifically contributing to the architecture, planning, design, and implementation of the software. It may also over time include coordinating the activities of other members of the development team.

As a Senior Java Developer you will work closely with both technical teams and business focused stakeholders to design a wide range of bespoke greenfield solutions typically being complex in design and technically demanding in makeup. Projects are often the first of their kind and require a highly technical and experienced problem solver. You will have a passion for delivering large scale solutions and have a real drive to understand the inner workings of the solutions you work on. The company in question are seeking forward thinking Java Developers with strong software/technology backgrounds that are looking to progress and develop their career quickly!

The successful Java Developer's will have the a good mix (but not all) of the following experience and skills:

*Java 8 is highly desirable

*Java web frameworks (Wicket, Play, Spring MVC)

*XML - Schema, SAX, DOM

*Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL

*NoSQL (Mongo, CouchDB, Risk, Neo4J)

*Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/AJAX, Web Infrastructure)

*Major enterprise level software delivery projects

*Scrum and/or Kanban

*Writing acceptance tests and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)

*Experience developing interactive websites

*Test Driven Development (TDD)

*Web Services (SOAP, REST)

*JVM based languages (Groovy or Scala)

*Scripting languages Ruby or Python
