Site Learning and Improvement Manager (Construction / Engineering) - Bridgwater - 12 months A Site Learning and Improvement Manager with experience of working within the Construction or Engineering industry is required to join an energy provider end client based in Bridgwater on a 12-month contract. The role:

You will:Be responsible for the deployment and ongoing development of the "Enable Organisational Learning" process within the Site Learning and Continuous Improvement team.Drive change to ensure that the contractor interface with the "Enable Organisational Learning" Process and optimisation of investigations are improved.Promote and deliver improvement activities taking benefit from Project learning by capitalising on your own technical expertise to target learning to maximise gains for the project, the future operator and subsequent new build project. PProvide input for regulatory interfaces as required, for example, with the Office for Nuclear Regulation, HSE, and the Environment Agency.Develop and deliver targeted technical Organisational Learning training, tool box talks, and briefings to ensure appropriate and sustainable knowledge transfer and competency levels exists for all site personnel.Develop a wide network and establish working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that learning is shared effectively and efficiently.Be a key interface for shared learning with Tier 1 contractors on site

Background and Qualifications 5 years construction and industrial experience in a leadership positionExtensive knowledge and hands-on experience of incident investigation techniques within a technical contextHands-on experience of promoting and using error reduction techniques in a technical contextA background in Human Factors in industrial settingsBTEC ONC/HNC or equivalent in Engineering or Construction with relevant experience or a degree in a related engineering subjectAccreditation with a professional bodyAPM Introductory Certificate or equivalent qualification in Project Management

The ideal candidate will have:Previous experience of influencing and driving the adoption of continuous improvement practices across the construction industry.The ability to seek opportunities to embed immediate change in the business and workforce within a fast-paced delivery-oriented environment.In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of engineering projects and common challenges and opportunities.Current knowledge of health and safety within the construction industry with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.An enthusiastic and energetic approach with the ability to engage with people at all levels.The ability to identify areas for improvement in ways of working and provide feedback on required amendments using own knowledge drawing on extensive experience in the construction industryAn ability to communicate complex topics and difficult messages clearly and so that it can be understood by a diverse audience of differing levels of technical background.A pragmatic approach in making achievable well-informed recommendations to improve existing ways of working and speed up decision making.The ability to take appropriate action to promote a culture where learning is translated as quickly as possible into safer and or more efficient ways of working.An ability to present KPIs, information and guidance for internal stakeholders and for Regulators in a clearly and concisely with the ability to draw out the key messages, outputs and forward actions.An appreciation of the ways through which design and construction decisions and actions can introduce latent errors and then subsequently impact Nuclear Safety.
