An industry-leader working with some of the UK's largest FTSE 250 manufacturing organisations in the design and installation of low-carbon energy schemes is currently seeking a CHP Project Engineer to play an integral role in the delivery of major projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company making a difference in reducing the energy consumption and carbon emissions of some of the biggest manufacturers in the UK.Scope of workAs Project Engineer, you will carry out an audit on-site at the customers manufacturing facility, identifying key points such as gas and electrical infrastructure, as well as any other thermal equipment. The site audit will also include performing metering activities. As well as performing this audit, the CHP Project Engineer will also be tasked with developing quality customer relationships.Following the audit, the Project Engineer will follow-up with any additional information acquired in order to build a credible feasibility study. Upon return to the office, modelling work is carried out using an in-house set of models to assess the benefits the organisation is able to offer. Data will be used to convert to a usable model, which may require further investigative work and liaison with equipment manufacturers. There will also be financial modelling work required to assess the profitable return of projects.Alongside the customer-facing activity, the CHP Project Engineer will also liaise closely with organisations such as DNO's, National Grid and the Environment Agency. There may also be interaction with landowners from time-to-time. The Project Engineer will then lead the project into the design phase of the programme, writing specifications for suppliers, running tenders for key project subsystems and engaging with suppliers to identify potential cost savings. After presenting to the key stakeholders within the customer organisation, including operations, finance, engineering and the board, following approval to commission the work, the Project Engineer will attend the site in a construction management or technical support capacity as required.The Project Engineer would be responsible for a portfolio of projects at individual values of up to £2m, and would be based from their office in Central London. However, the role would incorporate travel to project sites across the UK approximately 50% of the time.You will:Possess a technical engineering qualification in either mechanical or electrical disciplines (HND/Degree-Level).Be experienced in the delivery of energy-related projects, encompassing the identification of opportunities, procurement, project management and commissioning of installations.Ideally have had experience working within a process engineering environment.Be able to work from their Central London location.Be able to travel across the UK to project sites approximately 2-3 days a week.The companyWorking with some of the UK's leading manufacturers within process engineering industries such asAutomotive and Pharmaceutical, this company has developed more than 40 low-carbon energy schemes across the country.
