Virtualisation Technical Authority

Would you like to play a key role in the technical solution and supporting the development of the Shared Infrastructure solution for multiple platforms? We currently have a vacancy for a Virtualisation Technical Authority at our site in New Malden.

As a Virtualisation Technical Authority, you will carry out complex technical analyses and investigations while preparing specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards

In return, this role will provide you with the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology while acting as the technical point of reference for a range of internal stakeholders

Your main responsibilities as a Virtualisation Technical Authority will involve:

Support and prepare specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained.

Carry out complex technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.

Act as a point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve complex problems and issues and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives.

Act as a Technical Lead in this domain, guiding people on a daily basis and acting as the focal point for determining and reviewing technical solutions

Support the identification of business opportunities and the preparation of bids in area(s) of expertise to facilitate the development of the highest quality bids

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Knowledge of VMWare product suite or similar technology

Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment

Able to capture technical design and rationale

Experience of working in a design, development and delivery focused role

Desired:

System Design experience

Requirements Analysis

Technical documentation production

Problem solving and investigating technical solutions

Ability to communicate technical solution ideas to a broad range of personnel

Previous exposure to:

Requirements and Acceptance process, Software Development and virtualisation, COTS Hardware, server and blade technology

General Combat System's experience (Not essential)
