Job Title: IT Portfolio Office Analyst

Location: Havant

Salary: £31345 - £41496 depending on skills and experience

Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available

Our IT Portfolio Office looks after over 100 IT projects currently being delivered across SSE in different Business Units. Its main function is to govern and control the £100m IT investment and to provide Senior Management with the right information. Consisting of three main functions: financial control, portfolio reporting, governance and assurance, it also sets the standards, methods and processes to deliver effectively projects and programmes and owns the Transformation Change Governance Framework.

The main purpose of your role will be to track the progress of all programmes and projects within the IT Portfolio, to report on the IT portfolio health, help identify trends and thematics, and issues that might impact the portfolio, provide insights and recommendations, and to support the ongoing portfolio governance and assurance arrangements.

Youll carry out day-to-day activities for portfolio-level reporting including collation of completed project report templates and required information. Youll also monitor compliance with portfolio reporting guidelines and intervene when this deviates or slips.

Your Skills and Experience

With a background in Portfolio Office or PMO functions, managing the reporting cycle on a large portfolio, youll be able to use your collaborative skills to coach others to complete required reports. Youll have experience of the full project lifecycle and of governance within projects and programmes and programme/project management using Agile or Prince2 methodology or similar.

Youll bring excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail and be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, use of macros, etc and demonstrate the ability to implement and maintain consistent templates for portfolio reporting, which can identify trends. Accordingly, youll be able to recognise and call out relevant early warning indicators.

Able to deliver under pressure whilst building relationships at all levels, its essential you can also demonstrate a customer-focused approach to your work and be able to present your findings to Senior Management.
