We are currently supporting the recruitment of a fast growing and dynamic company engaged in the design and manufacture of leading systems in the voice alarm market.

 
Role and Responsibilities

The role of Approvals Engineer is to drive the EN54 Product approval process, EMC and Product Safety assessments, CE assessments and other approval processes (e.g, UL, CSA, etc).

Key Responsibilities
Working as Approvals Engineer within a small team to develop voice alarm and related security products.
This will include:
 Liaise with certification bodies and customer product approval organisations to ensure product compliance with legal, regulatory and customer requirementsOrganise and supervise external product validation (test houses, field trials etc)Support external testing activities by certification bodies, customer product approval organisations etc.Writing and conducting EMC/Safety test plansReview of product design and preliminary in-house testingAct as point of contact for product approvals, e.g. EN 54-16, UL, etcConduct Product AuditsConduct functional testing on new or updated hardware and softwareConduct internal training courses on new products, new product features, and product approvals (e.g. system design to meet EN 54-16)Hardware DesignAttending International Standards Committees
Knowledge and CapabilityA proven track record of practical EMC/Safety testing is preferred.Good technical documentation skills.However, consideration will be given to candidate with sound technical background/ hardware design knowledge wanting to move into this area.

Salary/Benefits
 £30k-£40k dependent on capability.Company's Group Life PlanGroup Income Replacement schemeWorkplace pension scheme, employee contribution 3% (minimum), employer contribution 5%.23 days holiday, plus bank holidays (after 2 years ' service this rises to 24 days and after 5 years ' service to 25 days) per annumWorking Hours 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5.30pm (possibility of some flexibility)Company
