Senior Infrastructure EngineerChippenham£50,000SummaryWe are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. You will provide support and technical expertise to support a secure infrastructure to meet day to day demands. You will be working in a fast paced environment driving performance and reliability from software, infrastructure and cloud environments. You will tackle challenging, unique situations every day and work with other functions and employees within the organisation as well as our customers. You will be a senior engineer and will support fellow team members on making reliable technical decisions to support and deploy infrastructure that runs critical services for our customers.This varied role requires an engineer who has strong problem solving skills with network, server and storage experience to support our managed hosting and corporate IT environments.ResponsibilitiesProviding 3rd line support, implementing, supporting and troubleshooting many technologies

Maintain and monitor all network, security and computer systems to meet the organisation's current and future requirementsResponsible for management, maintenance and architecture of storage, virtualised environments, servers, network devices and productivity toolsEnsure all components are monitored and identify performance issues proactivelyProvide in-depth investigations and root cause analysis of incidents and outages, reporting in accordance with company guidelinesAct as escalation point for team members in the resolution of complex problemsHigh level technical representation on priority issues and managing the technical resolutionPublishing support documentation to assist IT colleagues in following defined IT processesProviding regular and clear updates to the Head of InfrastructureProviding technical solutions where appropriate for BAU and project based requestsWorking closely with members of our Automation Team to automate standard processesDeveloping and promoting IT security best practices

Key Skills and Competencies

Linux experienceNetworking experienceMultiple technologies including but not limited to HP Hardware; VMware; F5 BIG-IP; Firewall Management (Juniper/Palo Alto), SAN Storage (NetApp/Pure); Linux; Windows; Active Directory; DNS; DHCPExperience of automation and configuration management tools and techniquesGood analytical, problem solving and decision making skillsCloud services including Azure, Office 365Experience of Solarwinds Orion Suite would be beneficial
