We are a small but mighty non-profit in the education technology sector - think start-up office atmosphere - with a big impact.
We were recently announced as co-winner of the Elon Musk sponsored $15 million Global Learning XPRIZE competition and are growing our team. We're looking for the right person (rather than the right CV) to iterate our learning software - onecourse - and to develop tools to support localisation into new languages. onecourse will be used by of millions of marginalised children. onebillion Our goal is for children to turn the world upside down, but first they need the fundamentals of an education. They need to be able to read fluently, to write with confidence and to be fully numerate. We are a non-profit based in London building software to transform the learning of children in reading, writing and numeracy. All in their own language, and at their own pace. We develop innovative pilot projects to find the best ways of bringing quality education to marginalised children. We work with partners to implement and scale technology-based learning initiatives that see children learning through our software. In Malawi, one such initiative, Unlocking Talent, is reaching over 100,000 children. Role
You'll be a full-time Android developer based in our Fulham office. What you'll be working on: Android development of new software modules for our onecourse Customisations to Android (AOSP / Lineage), adaptations for new devices. In-house GUI and CLI tools to support localisation. Requirements Tech: Advanced proficiency in native Android development. Experience of Android ROM development beneficial. iOS native app development experience beneficial. Dev-ops experience beneficial (linux server administration, software build and deployment automation). Mindset Passionate about technology, product and user experience. A keen interest and belief in technology as a catalyst for scaleable, quality education. Ability to work independently, plan your own solutions to problems and iterate quickly.
