Spring Technology is currently looking for an experienced Project Manager specialising in FIX (Financial Information Exchange) and trading platforms. This is a 6 month contract based in London.

The Project Manager will have the following background:

* Exposure to FIX (Financial Information Exchange) trade communications software

* Previous experience working on technology change projects, including trading platform enhancements within the Fixed Income and Equities space

* A strong knowledge of Clearing, Settlements, Securities and Unit trust processing

* Experience of carrying out and assisting with UAT and will be well versed in Agile methodologies

* Previously run technology projects from end to end and the ability to deal with stakeholders from across multiple business areas

* Experience working in Life Insurance, Investment banking or Private Wealth Management businesses

This is a Project Manager role working within a major financial services organisation.

The successful candidate will have excellent project management skills and will demonstrate knowledge and experience of applying them, ideally within the financial services sector.

They will be expected to own the project from inception to implementation. Depending on the project size, they may also be required to perform business analysis tasks and UAT planning / co-ordination in addition to the standard PM tasks.

It will be the project manager's responsibility to:

*Fully define and scope the project, using a facilitative approach with in-house or external expertise whilst following Perishing's Project Delivery Methodology.

*Apply Prince 2/Agile tools and techniques to control and monitor projects including:

oEffective and accurate project planning.

oIdentification, recording and management of project risks and issues.

*Deliver projects against to ensure that the time, quality and cost objectives are achieved.

*Manage internal and external stakeholder input to projects and manage expectations of senior stakeholders.

Required Skills

*Demonstrable Project Management skills and experience including:

oFull understanding of the project life cycle with proven front to back ownership of multiple projects.

oExperience of co-ordinating business analysis and UAT across multiple departments.

oUnderstanding of quality assurance within a project.

oProject or Programme Management disciplines and techniques such as Prince 2/Agile.

*Perform regular formal progress and status reporting.

*Effective communication skills when dealing with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation including the delivery of presentations to audiences of varied sizes.

*Ability to multi-task, working alone, and as part of a team.

*Ability to prioritise individual and project work load to ensure that key project milestones are achieved

*Management of all project risks and issues to ensure appropriate mitigations and actions are identified and managed to a successful closure

*Management of all project costs, in terms of forecast and actuals, to ensure that projects are delivered to the agreed budget
