Senior SQL Server Database Administrator An organisation based near Reading are seeking a Senior SQL Server DBA with expertise in Production DBA duties to join their team in response to growth and success of the team. You'll be working in a team of around 10 DBA's working on a range of SQL Server versions from 2005-2019 + Azure IaaS/PaaS and AWS-hosted instances, for a large number of clients across the UK and Europe.You'll be an expert in Production Database Administration duties in SQL Server, including, but not limited to; Installations, upgrades, Performance Tuning, Disaster Recovery, Delivering High Availability, Permissions/Access and Security. As part of the role you'll work on problems ranging from quick fixes to highly complex issues, so will be given a different challenge every day.Your duties will also include guiding and mentoring Junior DBA's in their role, in an environment where knowledge-sharing and education is championed. As you're working in a customer-facing role, excellent written and verbal English are a prerequisite.Key Skills include:- Expertise in SQL Server Database Administration (usually gained after 5 or more years in a Production DBA Role)- Expertise in Performance Tuning, Installation/Migrations, Disaster Recovery and delivering High Availability - Experience in Service Desk Environment and working with ticketing systems- Excellent customer facing skills (written and verbal)This is a Permanent Role offering a package of up to £60,000 per year including on-call (working 1 week in 4 on-call), as well as a bonus (Taking your yearly package to over £70,000), awesome benefits and access to the latest versions of SQL Server before GA Release.
