In fact they've recently delivered a number of exciting projects including £12m Telford Town Centre Connectivity Package, a £4.5m highways capital programme and £2m Pride in Your Community investment programme. Over the next three years the Council is embarking on a further significant investment programme, will you be part of it?As a result of this development they've got an exciting opportunity to join the Traffic Management Team to provide technical advice and support within the Highways, Transport & Engineering Service area.The Role:As a Traffic Engineer you will design and implement traffic management and road safety engineering schemes as part of the Integrated Transport Capital Programme on time and to budget to ensure that the Council fulfils its Highway duties.You will also provide technical advice on traffic engineering and traffic management as part of these projects as well as supporting co-ordination of the projects on the network. This will range from reviewing requests for reduced speed limit reductions, design of traffic management schemes and addressing parking issues.The post-holder will be supporting the design, management and maintenance of traffic signals, signs, bollards and road markings in the borough and also support the operation and development of the Urban Traffic Management and Control Centre (UTMC) to ensure a safe and free flowing transport network in the borough.Are you an experienced Engineer, technician or a recent graduate, looking to work in a forward thinking local authority and develop your and the teams skills?
