Enigma People Solutions is recruiting a Senior Electronics Design Engineer for our client's newly opened Edinburgh Advanced Design Center. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building the next generation of LiDAR systems for autonomous vehicles, UAVs, industrial automation and other applications. This position is a research and development focused role for an innovative and versatile Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Engineer who is keen to get involved in all aspects of LiDAR sensor development in a start-up environment.

Responsibilities:

Analogue and digital (mixed signal) system design

System architecture design and integration

System specifications and requirements

Prototype development, testing and calibration

Design, characterization and testing of electronic modules

High speed, high power PCB and design and simulation

Schematic capture

Layout/supervision of layout of PCB design

Power supply design

Real-time sensing systems

Collaboration with mechanical, firmware, software & hardware engineers

Prepare technical reports, proposals and presentations

Communicate ideas to technical audiences

Supervision and mentoring of junior staff members

Requirements:

Advanced Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

Minimum of 7-10 years of industry experience.

Experience of embedded systems including FPGA/GPU, high voltages, PMICs, high-speed driver circuits, high-speed serial interfaces

Experience of full product design cycle from concept to qualification and production

Experience with designs of challenging signal integrity, power integrity, EMI, EMC and thermal requirements

Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise in commercial systems

Schematic capture and PCB layout

Experience of high-speed and/or high-power circuit design and characterization desirable

Experience with LIDAR or RADAR systems preferred.

Experience with automotive electronics a bonus

Microcontroller and FPGA programming skills desirable

Optoelectronics experience desirable

General-purpose programming with at least one high-level language desirable
