IT Asset Manager / Configuration Manager - Contract - 3 months initially - South Yorkshire. My client, a leading UK University, is looking for an IT Asset Manager for an initial 3 month contract (with likely extensions) that can start in the next 2 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

*Define IT Asset & Configuration Management policies and processes.

*Establish Configuration & Asset Management function (practice).

*Support the development and rollout of IT Service Management (ITSM) support tools through fulfilling the project process lead role.

Required Skills

*Extensive experience of Hardware/Software asset management.

*Experience of establishing Asset Management functions/practices.

*Experience of SM Toolsets, Toolset integration and Service Mapping.

*Any past experience of SNOW Asset Management and/or Axios Assyst would be an advantage.

The Project

The organisation is moving into Phase II of the implementation of a Service Management Toolset. A priority has been identified around Asset Management, both Hardware and Software, Goods In/Goods Out and Configuration Management. The timescale for the project is aggressive and the post holder will be required to 'hit the ground running'.

The successful applicant must be able to mentor and create positive relationships within a matrix managed team, able and willing to provide expertise, often contributing, and where required taking ownership of specialist products. Have attention to detail and be able to positively challenge stakeholders and know when to do this. They will need to be a confident and experienced presenter.
