Software Development Manager - PortsmouthA rare opportunity for a hands-on Software Development Manager at a diverse and dynamic business.A technically strong development manager is required to manage and lead a delivery focussed development team, including web and application developers as well as agile SCRUM, BA & QA functions, working on a range of transactional web applications for our business.The successful candidate would be responsible for all elements of managing the team tasked with delivering change on our range of projects and applications for a diverse group of companies.Scope of role Lead, manage and support a cross functional development team to achieve high standards through building industry leading, robust and innovative software solutions that are fit for purpose.Develop an expert team who are skilled and motivated, resulting in high quality output, executed effectively and efficiently.Operational responsibility of the software estate, specifically including the public facing web estate and bespoke back end systems.Technical skillsStrong commercial experience of all aspects of the software development lifecycle to deliver web-based solutions within an agile SCRUM environment.You should be able to build solutions using appropriate techniques to ensure applications use resources efficiently and perform at the required level without compromising data integrity.Good knowledge of design principles such as separation of concerns and practical experience of solution design patterns such as micro-services architecture.A good understanding and experience of server-side development with C#, Asp.Net MVC, Razor and SQL Server is essential.Ability to create cross browser compatible websites using W3C standards with front-end web development experience including HTML5, CSS3, LESS/SASS, Bootstrap 3 & 4 and JQuery/JavaScript.Hands on experience of creating, updating and debugging AngularJS and Angular client-side UI functionality.You will be practised with a variety of web-service standards including XML, SOAP, REST and JSON using WCF & WebAPI as well as AJAX technologies.Familiarity with continuous integration and DevOps principles such as automated deployment solutions including TeamCity, Octopus Deploy and PowerShell and use of this in a production environment.Due to the volume of applications received for positions, it will not be possible to respond to all applications and only applicants who are considered suitable for interview will be contacted. Proactive Appointments Limited operates as an employment agency and employment business and is an equal opportunities organisation
