Job Description: 
Our client is seeking a candidate for a Procurement Supervisor in our Supply Chain organization. This person will be responsible for supporting the procurement activities and Supervise a team of 4/5 Material controllers in a high volume, high mix manufacturing environment. This position will play a critical role in ensuring that LSD Supply Chain organization delivers on time. 
The Procurement Supervisor is expected to be data driven and provide effective and efficient communication to internal and external parties. The candidate for this position must be disciplined in using data to develop a procurement plan, manage inventory, and interact with suppliers and sales. This individual will need to embrace change and promote continuous improvement. 
Responsibilities: 
      •     Supervise the Material Controller team ensuring standard work is completed daily, weekly etc. Training including cross-training tasks are completed on time. 
      •     Ensure Health and Safety and the client Operating System protocols are adhered to in the department 
      •     Procure and manage material to meet quality, delivery, and inventory targets, using MRP and Lean Pull Systems. Effectively manage supply programs to achieve required lead times and inventory objectives. 
      •     Own daily working relationships with suppliers, production, customer service and other organizations within the company as needed. 
      •     Evaluate MRP data and place purchase orders for raw material and resale materials. Communicate with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and assist in the resolution of any issues. 
      •     Enter and maintain material master data on assigned part numbers in SAP. 
      •     Point of contact with suppliers as needed to resolve issues regarding shipment/invoice discrepancies and drive improvements as required by the business. Effectively communicate with and engage all levels of the organization as well as key suppliers and customers. 
      •     Support supplier quality compliance activities. Monitor and improve supplier delivery reliability and reduce lead times. Support escalation process with suppliers, (Quality and Delivery issues). 
      •     Supervise the Material Controller team ensuring standard work is completed daily, weekly etc. Training including cross-training tasks are completed on time.

Qualification: 
      •     Management / Supervisory exp in a Purchasing Environment. 
      •     Buying knowledge in a manufacturing environment 
      •     Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP including data elements to drive MRP. Excellent computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. 
      •     Ability to communicate and build relationships both internally, across all functional organization and externally with suppliers and customer service. 
      •     knowledge of working with advanced manufacturing techniques: KANBAN, pull systems. 
      •     Knowledge and exp with quality tools such as Lean Six Sigma preferred.
