We have two new and exciting Senior Application Support Analysts to join the Group Technology and Change team based in Edinburgh.
The main purpose of these roles will be to provide support for live business applications. Our application support analysis will ensure that they are available at all times to support business users and external customers to the highest possible standard.
What will you be doing
Receiving and log requests for support from service delivery stakeholders
Prioritising requests and resolving system and service issues independently.
Supporting senior level management and monitoring the impact of application issues to group service levels.
Investigating issues and other ad hoc requests for application support and determine appropriate actions to assist.
Identifying and championing potential improvement to processes and analysing risk controls and change processes
Supporting junior application support analysts and the wider application services team
What we're looking for
A strong understanding of software and hardware platforms which support live business applications
Experience of IT concepts such as SQL
Awareness of the full software development lifecycle
Awareness of business environment where applications are in use
Skills that will help you in the role
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to describe technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
Comfortable working in a team environment and with minimal supervision
Ability to provide process improvement suggestions to senior colleagues and the wider tea
