To support our continued growth we are looking to hire a Solutions Architect with a strong data background to join our team.
The main purpose of this role is to support the design and development of a variety of change initiatives across the Group, and particularly within the data domain. 
Our solution architects provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on technical strategy, provide input to the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the growth of the enterprise, and design changes which can enable the development of our data capabilities from data modelling through to advanced analytics and "big data".
What will you be doing

Supporting our Enterprise Architects in the creation of Royal London data strategy
Researching into emerging technologies to provide recommendations to the data strategy for the group
Leading the design and delivery of change initiatives
Supporting the delivery of large scale, multi-project technical solutions
Identify opportunities for process and system improvements
Working with key stakeholders across the business

What we're looking for

Excellent Solution Architecture understanding and skills
Key experience in multiple aspects of the data architecture domain including: BI, data warehousing, advanced analytics, data modelling, data analysis
Excellent understanding of data/database technologies (R, Shiny, SQL Server, SSIS, Oracle, Tableau, PowerBI)
Ability to engage and influence stakeholders
Comfortable with being vocal and challenging opinions
Experience in IT strategic planning

Skills that will help you in the role

Strong and demonstrable knowledge of architecture frameworks, trends and initiatives
Designing software & systems architecture
Experience of Agile and Waterfall Methodologies
Working knowledge of integration technologies e.g. NSB; ESB,SOA etc.
Experience of a wide range of supporting infrastructure technologies e.g. Cloud
Strong presentation skills an comfortable presenting to senior management teams
Experience in IT strategic planning
