Commercial Finance Manager - LONDON - £300-£400 - 3 monthsCommercial Finance Manager - LONDON - £300-£400 - 3 months The work location is in Paddington, LONDON and is a 3 month contract. The pay rate is between £300 - £400 per day. The role is working for a well established, multi-national retailer and specialises in clothing, home and luxury product. The client's strategy is to recover and grow their Clothing and Home business and continue to grow Food, supported by optimisation of their UK store estate, international business and costs. Group Property are responsible for providing a cost optimised property service, and developing an appropriate store portfolio for the Clothing and Home and Food businesses units, which currently comprises over 950 stores in the UK.Reporting to the Head of Property Finance - Strategy this role business partners the Head of Renewal and Head of Concessions. It is to ensure delivery of robust financial evaluations and sufficient challenge for all "in the box" property developments. The role also co-ordinates with other finance teams, most importantly Retail, Clothing & Home and Food finance, to ensure the impact of expected changes in the property estate are consistently reflected in financial forecasts and budgets across the group and will provide a pivotal role in the Post Implementation review of actions. Key accountabilities of the role include:Own robust business cases for all "Renewal" (store modernisation) programme, get understanding of the initiatives and trials driving economic benefitsWork with Food and Clothing & Home finance teams to ensure accurate modellingOwn robust business cases for concession trial and rollouts, support the Head of Concessions in getting these approved at investment committeeEnsure reporting of key KPI's and success factors exist for Renewal & ConcessionsBusiness Partner the "head of" in both areas, ensuring decisions are sufficiently challenged and robust, and financials are understoodAnnually undertake a Post Investment Review of store estate actions and use learnings to update the assumptions in the Capital Evaluation ModelProvide ad-hoc modelling, including financial support for ad hoc transactions or deals relating to concession partners Key competencies and skillsQualified accountant with strong financial evaluation capabilities, experience building and business cases. Full understanding of financial evaluation metrics, their uses and limitations and inter-relationshipsCommercial experience essentialBusiness partnering experience essentialCommercial awareness to add challenge and insight to development business appraisalsAbility to work closely with and influence non-financial colleagues, including ability to present complex information credibly to members of the property leadership teamAbility to maintain and further enhance controls and process and ability to implement changeStrong analytical capabilities, comfortable working with and accurately manipulating data to provide accurate and insightful reportingGood IT skills, including advanced excel capabilitiesStrong team player but also happy to work independently on own initiative If you are relevant or interested don't delay, contact me on 0161 924 3626
