I am working with a successful manufacturing business based in Cambridgeshire to find a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. Responsibilities of the role include:

Contribution of senior mechanical design expertise and innovation for the new product development (NPD) activities from architecture and concept definition through to detailed modelling, design, test and product qualification, along with manufacturing development and supportAccurate understanding of product requirements and the system architectureGeneration of detailed specifications for design of sub-systems and componentsOptimisation of design solutions and trade-offs for owned part and system areasHands-on involvement (with test engineering colleagues) in design verification, testing and characterisation Development and/or assistance with associated test and characterisation tooling and rigsMeeting of challenging project deadlines while assuring high quality solutionsHelping to build core knowledge, best practices and design standards for the team, department and company.

The successful candidate will have:

Bachelor's Degree minimum, preferably Masters, in Mechanical Engineering.Architecture, design and development of complex precision products and systems involving precision custom mechanical components and the integration of electronics and/or fluidicsCompletion of at least one complete product development cycle, from concept through full design, development and industrialisation to successful market introductionManufacturing methods for both rapid prototyping and mass production.Mid-high volume precision manufacturing/assembly in an operations environment.
