Technical Application Support Specialist

Nationally recognised, award winning client of mine is looking for a Technical Application Support Specialist to join their IT team during an exciting period of transformation. This role will be based at their head office in Warwickshire.

The Technical Application Support Specialist will sit within a team responsible for managing and supporting application delivery solutions, Microsoft AppV, SCCM, and Citrix XenApp/Xen Desktop, including design. The Technical Application Support Specialist will be working with both Technical Leads and stakeholders from around the business.

Key Responsibilities:

*Packaging of bespoke and COTS applications, including new requests and upgrades.

*Responsibility for the full application lifecycle from discovery, packaging and internal testing through to release management through the appropriate toolsets (SCCM, App-V).

*Remediation of any packaging related issues in the estate.

*Offering assistance to the Test Team in setting up and troubleshooting User Acceptance Tests.

*Creation of change requests for both pilot and production application releases.

*Liaising with customers, fellow IT specialists, project delivery teams, Business Relationship Managers and external vendors to support end-to-end delivery of environments.

Key Skills and Experience required:

*Application Packaging; App-V V4.6, App-V V5.1, MSI

*Troubleshooting of packaged applications and test team liaison.

*Advanced scripting skills; Powershell, VBScript

*In depth experience of Active Directory and Group Policy.

*In depth experience of application deployment and task sequences in SCCM 2012

*In depth knowledge of Microsoft App-V V4.6 infrastructure.

*Knowledge of Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop.

*In depth experience of Microsoft operating systems.

*Experience of working in an IT service managed environment.

*Strong problem solving skills.

*Excellent communication skills.

*Candidates must have 5 GCSE's grade C or above (which must include Maths and English).

*ITIL Foundation certificate would also be desirable.
