Background Canterbury Christ Church University is launching an ambitious programme to deliver a new student record system, transform its business processes and ways of working, with the aim of significantly improving the experiences students and staff have. The programme will also help to make the University's services more efficient, and will make a positive difference to day-to-day working life for University staff by freeing up more time to focus on value-adding activity.  The Role You will be an integral part of the MOSI programme and will be responsible for overseeing all testing during the programme including system testing and UAT testing. This includes testing integrations of corporate systems working alongside IT and the IT Test Manager. You will manage and develop the Test Framework, Strategy and plans to ensure testing is carried out in a professional manner.  You will continue to develop testing documentation and templates where necessary to facilitate continual improvement of testing for the MOSI programme.  You will be both be hands-on in terms of performing testing and overseeing the testing by others. You will write test plans for each stage of the programme and be responsible for developing scripts both on their own and in conjunction with the SITS team, IT Team, Business Leads, Subject Matter experts and other members of the MOSI team and people in the business. You will work in close partnership with the corporate IT Test manager for any technical testing that is undertaken. You will lead on testing for the Business.  You will be expected to provide direction and guidance to technical and non-technical staff and to pass on skills to enable them to undertake professional and effective testing of technical products and business processes.  The Person  This role is equivalent to a corporate Test Manager such is the reach of the program on university business and processes. You will therefore have experience of multi system testing within a large organisation as well as experience of managing a team and developing a performance management framework to manage them effectively.   You will have a Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline and a professional testing qualification (e.g. ISEB foundation certificate in software testing). You will have experience leading software testing within an organisation, with a successful track record as a Lead/Senior Test Analyst/Manager. You will have previous experience of Test Automation and experience of using a system such as JIRA, Team Foundation Server or similar. You will have hands-on testing experience within a whole range of functional testing including UAT, acceptance and system testing, as well as writing and executing unit tests and testing non-functional requirements.  You will have experience in performance testing tools like JMeter, as well as in troubleshooting and resolving performance related issues.
