IT Systems Support/Administrator (Windows Server, SQL)

£22K - £25K DOE + Benefits

My client, a leading services company are seeking an customer focused Systems Support/ Administrator (Windows Server, SQL) to work in their Barnsley offices.

Working in a busy environment supporting IT Systems and customer platforms, while also liaising with other teams, taking ownership of projects to improve the systems and business processes for the organisation.

The main purpose of the role is to implement and maintain high availability of systems, ensuring that down time is kept to a minimum. You will also provide general day to day 1st and 2nd line support for clients and general IT users.

Taking ownership and resolution of incidents and service requests. You will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance and undertaking various project related work.

It is imperative that you are able to effectively communicate and liaise with other teams in a project by project basis; this can include across the whole Service Desk and other IT teams.

A great attention to detail, a broad technical knowledge and understanding is required with key focus on systems and continual improvement, as well as general IT support and development, ideally exposure to general Database.

It would be strongly favoured to have skills with Windows/SQL Server Administration, ideally within an AWS environment however, training will be provided. Also, any exposure to C# Development skills would also be highly advantageous.

Key Skills: (not all are essential but a general understanding of some or all of the following would be favoured)

*SQL Server

*Windows Server 2003-2012

Desirable skills; (some experience would be favoured in any of the following)

*AWS

*C#

*DBA skills (such as Performance tuning, stored procedures etc…)

*ITIL
