Reporting Development Lead

My client a leading government agency are looking to recruit a Reporting Development Lead. You will be expected to develop new and amend existing reports (using IBM Cognos Reporting) with focus on information availability and improvements in efficiency.

Key responsibilities will include-

-Designs, develops, unit tests and supports reports and tools to meet business requirements across the organisation, to enable the Operations, Finance and Field-based populations to make accurate forecasts and commercial decisions.

-Provide appropriate documentation so that the tools can be supported and enhanced by others, update logs and report documentation to reflect the design and reports' logic. Documentation and training to support new reports and dashboards.

-Keep abreast of day to day business to develop an understanding of the underlying data elements to identify gaps in the information available and devise timely solutions.

-Automated where possible collection and uploading of data from various systems and sources, maintain best practice across the reporting suite running throughout the organisation.

-Liaise with BI Analyst, BIC Delivery Lead and business partners and their teams, interpret client needs to create design specifications and develop reports to meet the needs of a fast paced, quickly changing business in a timely manner.

-Support of all in-house reports & tools and prioritise fixes to bugs as required by the business, ensure knowledge of all in-house reports & tools built by the team and support as necessary

-Where being involved in projects adhere to the project plan timelines to deliver necessary reports and solutions.

-Attend business / projects meetings as and when required to provide specialist knowledge in respect of report interpretation and change requests

-Use analysis skills to support business driven initiatives through the use of data

The Successful candidate will have-

*IBM Cognos Analytics Report Studio, Framework Manager, Cube Designer, Administration and Security

*IBM Cognos Reporting version 10.0 and/or version 11.0

*ETL experience using DataStage, DataManager or SQL SSIS.

*Understanding of various BI software - such as Reporting tools (i.e. Cognos or MS SSRS), Visualisation (i.e. PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.) or ETL (SSIS, Tableau, Talend, etc.)

*IBM Cognos Connection and Framework Manager, High level SQL script writing, Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

*Worked in a customer facing business or demonstrate experience in a customer facing environment, with strong experience at how to make data tell a story with graphs or other forms of visualisation.

*Advanced knowledge of data management systems, practices and standards.
