Bio-Technician - Unix scripting experience - Contract - 12 months - Cambridge. My client, a leading Scientific institute based in Cambridge, is looking for a Bio Technician to join on a 12 month contract basis.

The successful candidate will ideally have a degree in a scientific field and will need to have some experience using the Linux command line, although the client is also interested in individuals who may be transitioning from a laboratory-based job. It would be desirable, but by no means essential, for you

to have knowledge of genotyping data. You will enjoy working in a team environment and have the motivation and desire to make a personal contribution to rare/common disease research that helps the lives of patients enrolled in the studies.

You will be working with large data sets and be responsible and ensuring that are migrated across to the central database accurately. Any experience with running Unix command line / scripts is highly advantageous; as is experience with Python / Perl.
