The specialist will be expected the embedded into current delivery teams and will be expected to lead a small team.We are looking for an exceptional Lead DevOps Engineer with a good balance of technical understanding and strong leadership skills we have proven experience in the development, deployment and support of services built on a track record of stability, availability and qualityKey Skills / ExperienceTechnology knowledge - good experience of four or more of:Best Practice secure infrastructure AWS & associated toolingNetworking Linux (CentOS or RHEL)Automation Tooling: Ansible, Puppet, Terraform Monitoring & AlertingMaking and guiding decisionsCapable of making and guiding effective decisions, explaining clearly how the decision has been reached.Able to make decisions characterised by managed levels of risk and complexity and recommend decisions as risk and complexity increase.Take ownership of problems and proactively resolves technical problems, ensuring that technical solutions continue to meet business requirementsBridging the gap between the technical and non-technical Translate technical concepts between infrastructure, delivery management and service management so they are understood by alAble to speak on behalf of technical and service management teams and facilitate the relationships with indirect stakeholders Able to share knowledge and mentor (potentially non-technical) colleaguesAble to share knowledge and mentor (potentially non-technical) colleaguesGovernanceUnderstands technical governance and is able to participate in or deliver the assurance of a serviceUnderstands government requirements of governance, auditability and accountabilityTechnology knowledge - good experience of one or more ofBest Practice AWS Architectures (i.e. Immutable Infrastructure, IaC, Ephemeral Infrastructure) MySQL compatible DBs: MySQL, RDS, Aurora, MariaDBBuild Pipeline automation, CI/CD Build Tooling: Packer, Vault, Git, SonarQube, JenkinsGovernment Cloud Security standards (NIST, OWASP, CIS, NCSC etc…) BASH, PythonCloud identity & IAM solutions (i.e. LDAP, AWS Directory Services) RESTful microservicesSplunk IT Service Management
