A leading supplier and exporter of Scottish Seafood and Salmon products based in Buckie as an opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its team on a full-time permanent basis.

The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the facility and all equipment used in the manufacture of products and the operation of the business.

Key responsibilities will include, although not be limited to:
Maintaining and operating the preventative maintenance system that incorporates manufacturing & facility equipment.Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance.Responding to unplanned repairs and breakdowns, diagnosing faults and repairing equipment.Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.Creating /modifying maintenance procedures.Managing stocks of spare parts, controlling and maintaining tooling in manufacturing.Calibration to relevant standards for key process and measurement equipment.Arranging 3rd parties to perform maintenance/calibration tasks where required.Programming and machine setting as required.Modifying equipment to improve performance and efficiency.Installing & Commissioning new equipment.
Essential experience and skills:
Competent in areas of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing processes.Strong engineering & technical knowledge.Excellent problem-solving skills.Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to manage own workload.Good written and verbal communication skills.IT competent.Have an electrical qualification or apprenticeship with experience, along with mechanical engineering knowledge.It is preferred that candidates apply who have experience working within a food processing sector environment, although must have experience working within a manufacturing environment. This position would suit a ‘hands-on’ candidate with relevant qualification and a strong background in maintenance engineering gained from within a modern lean manufacturing environment.

The Maintenance Engineer will workday shift, however, do 1 week in every 3 on a back shift and must be flexible to work Saturday as and when required.

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must be a driver with their own transport and live locally or be willing to relocate to the area.

The successful candidate will receive a salary negotiable based on experience.
