Data Engineering Manager

Birmingham

£70000 - £75000 per annum

We are mandated by our global, tier-one client to assist in the hiring of a Data Engineering Manager to be based in Birmingham. This role will pay up to £75,000 basic plus a very strong benefits package.

Our clients Data Engineering Centre of Excellence team is a specialist team of full time developers and technology specialists who solve problems through the use of data analytics, tools and platforms. They hold ambitious growth plans and are looking for highly motivated and skilled individuals who can architect, build, support and maintain technology solutions in Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

As part of a market-leading team, youll be helping deliver technology and data solutions to streamline their data management processes, gather insights and deliver engaging reporting tools and data visualisations.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

* Demonstrate extensive skills and success in the implementation of technology projects with a particular focus on data engineering;

* Extensive experience in designing, architecting and building solutions using the Microsoft Azure or GCP technology stack. Proven track record as a data engineer for implementing

solutions which are robust and secure;

* Collaborating and contributing as a team member: understanding personal and team roles, contributing to a positive working environment by building strong relationships with team

members, proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback;

* Identifying and addressing client needs, building relationships with clients, responding to proposals and requests for information; demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing

tasks, communicating potential conflicts to a supervisor;

* Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to travel, as client assignments require;

* Effectively manage team members in line with company policy and procedures, including performance, development, disciplinary and conflict resolution with effective feedback; and

Required Skills

* Proven years of experience in data analysis and/or software architecture and development.

* Proven experience in data engineering using the Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technology stack.

* Strong relational database architecture and development skills (preferably Microsoft SQL Server).

* Proven ability to work in distributed systems/architecture.

* Strong knowledge of cloud technology design, implementation and security.

* Experience of team leadership
