An international leader in the design, build and installation of high-voltage networks within the power distribution sector is currently seeking a Project Manager as they embark on the next stage of their growth. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established, yet growing global business with a presence in over 30 countries around the world.Scope of workAs Project Manager, you will play an integral role in the delivery of full-lifecycle projects from sales tender through to design, construction and handover. Managing large project delivery teams consisting of both staff and sub-contract resource, you will be accountable for the safe, efficient delivery of high-voltage projects on-time and to-budget.Furthermore, you will also be accountable for the financial health of each project, improving project results where necessary and preparing monthly/quarterly reviews for presentation to the senior management team. Project values can range from anywhere between EUR300,000 to EUR100m.In the role of Project Manager, you will engage in technically activity, interfacing with engineering staff both within the business and externally, ensuring installations are delivered correctly and to the high-quality standards expected of the business. You will also solve problems as they occur and take corrective action where necessary. In addition, when liaising with the installation engineering teams, it is important that as Project Manager, you're able to define technical needs and coordinate priorities where appropriate. You will also establish engineering time schedules with milestones and deliverables, control and approve schematic documents and manage orders of sub-contracted materials where necessary.Commercially, the role will also utilise extensive contract management skills as you carry out risk management work and ensure all parties meet contractual obligations where required. The role is to be based from their Edinburgh headquarters and will involve travel to projects across the UK approximately 2-3 days a week.You will:Be qualified in a technical engineering discipline, preferably Electrical or Civil-biased (HND/Degree-Level)Have a knowledge of Primavera or MS ProjectHave a proven record project-managing large projects within the power generation or energy sectorHave contract management skills with a good understanding of NEC3 and FIDIC contractsBe able to demonstrate a record of good negotiation skills, such as sub-contractor tendering and selection.Be able to work from their Edinburgh headquartersBe able to travel to facilities across the United Kingdom as, and when, required.The companyA global organisation who design, build and install high-voltage electrical networks up to 400kV, this is a company that has a worldwide presence in over 30 countries.Why apply?The company is paying a basic salary of between £40,000-£55,000 basic salary plus a very competitive benefits packing consisting of a bonus, company car/car allowance, contributory pension scheme, private healthcare and 25 days holiday + 8 Stats.If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply immediately.
