Programme Manager (18 Month Contract)
Birmingham, West Midlands
£43,000 pro rata Plus 26 Days' Holiday (pro rata), Option To Buy Up To Five Days' Extra Annual Leave, Flexible Working, Civil Service Pension, Additional Benefits Package

Great Britain's gambling industry is in a constant state of change, fuelled by shifting consumer behaviour and the rapid growth of technology. It's high profile politically too, and the legislation controlling gambling is constantly under scrutiny. Within this uniquely challenging and evolving environment, our client's role is to ensure that gambling is crime free, fair and open - and that children and vulnerable people are protected. Now they need you to play a key role in their future, driving the change needed to ensure that the organisation can meet the growing complexity of the market and their developing regulatory remit.

Our client is now seeking a Programme Manager to help deliver a National Lottery programme of work related to performance management and programme culture. This is an 18 month fixed term contract.

Joining the National Lottery team means playing your part in shaping and regulating a national institution - an institution responsible for delivering over £38bn in returns to good causes since its inception - at a particularly exciting time. The team ensures that players are protected, that the National Lottery is run well and that the amount of money that the National Lottery raises for good causes is maximised. It's a broad remit and one which means you can bring fresh ideas to unique challenges, drawing on our client's wide-ranging expertise to maintain the National Lottery's position as a source of both public pride and public good.

As a Programme Manager, you'll be tasked with improving the National Lottery Programme and ensuring the culture and performance monitoring and reporting are fit for purpose.

You will take the lead on planning and co-ordinating programme work, ensuring that appropriate project plans are in place and resources are available.

Reporting to the Programme Director, you will provide coaching and development opportunities to colleagues to improve standards and will seek to enhance programme culture.

Your role will also involve:

- Directly project managing certain large projects
- Working on projects that improve the approach and operation of the National Lottery Programme
- Leading on programme performance monitoring and reporting work
- Taking the lead in communicating change and our client's approach to change
- Building relationships both internally and externally

To be considered, you will need:

- To be an experienced project and programme manager.
- Experience of taking the lead on delivering and improving programme performance monitoring and reporting

Articulate and persuasive, as a Programme Manager, you will also need strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong, robust working relationships.

The closing date for this role is the 23rd May 2019.
