A Kent based company are seeking to recruit a R+D Project Engineer who can endorse their core values and strive towards achieving the Company mission statement: Manufacturing Excellence / Achieving Compliance / Innovation in Design / Caring for Employee Needs / Outstanding Customer Service.As a R+D Project Engineer you will:
Works with the Technical Director and Team to lead projects ensuring they are introduced on time and within budget.Develop and administrate roadmap planning process to meet parent company global R+D strategy.Agree milestones and deadlines, monitor progress and report status to the Technical Director.Gather information at the initial stages of projects will form a major part of the job role, maintaining accurate information throughout.Schedule internal and external resources in order to achieve agreed milestones and deadlines.Be aware of current trends, practices, market developments and regulatory changes that impact on the company’s products.Oversee prototype testing (both in-house and external) and R+D documenting reports. Incorporating of test/certificate/reports into BSB certification/literature/labelling liaising with QA.Prepare drawings/specifications/reports for approval and systemised control of all related documentation within QA system.Assist with development of departmental annual budget.Be involved of any area within the ERP system, but primarily BOMs, components, routings, configurations and cutting sheets will be necessary for existing and new products. Collation of data, of which accuracy and attention to detail is critical.
You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
2.1 Degree or equivalent in an engineering related discipline desirable.Experience in sheet metal fabrication in a busy manufacturing environment an advantage.Drawing office experience with sound understanding of 3D CAD /CAM software drawing methods and drawing control.Proficient in Microsoft Office products.High degree of creativity in product design and manufacturing techniques.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Flair to interact effectively with Test and Certification bodies, Customers, Suppliers and all personnel within the Company.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Strong documentation, organization and time management skills.Car and driving licence with business travel insurance for occasional travel from normal place of work. In return, the R+D Project Engineer will receive a salary of £30,000 - £32,000 depending on skills and experience.
