The Role

*Work alongside the Director of DevOps to help implement cloud configuration, deployment and administration.

*Help improve/implement Agile working practices, Software Architecture, Development & Testing, Version control, CI/CD processes & tools & Pipelines

*Playing a key role in the design/change of cloud-based infrastructure ensuring an appropriate approach to regulatory requirements, resilience/disaster recovery, cost management and vendor lock-in. Ensuring relevant documentation is maintained in respect of architecture, technology and processes.

*Providing technical direction and advice, driving consensus across engineering teams around architecture/technology choices.

*Establish and support a continuous delivery leadership team to establish DevOps best practices for cloud based and on-premises applications.

*Coordinate across the business to help the adoption of Agile, DevOps, continuous testing and service management practices.

*Identify opportunities for automation and optimisation and lead the incremental adoption into the delivery to improve productivity, quality, and innovation.

* Help support of a cross-functional team responsible for Software Engineering, Testing, Service Reliability and Service Management.

*You will be encouraged and expected to be proactive and bring ideas forward

*Attend industry led events as and when required

*Any other duties as reasonably required

The Person

Essential:

*A background in Infrastructure management and implementation, experience with cloud providers would be ideal.

*Instilling a continual improvement mind-set and working tirelessly to reduce/remove bottlenecks and leverage automation.

*Strong communicator

*Positive and technically minded

Desirable:

*Significant experience of delivering and supporting highly available sites/services which operate 24x7 globally on cloud infrastructure.

*Experience with Microsoft Azure

*Experience with Azure DevOps (formally Visual Studio Team Services)
