Location: Surrey
Salary: £28000 - £35000 per annum
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated new member of the team to help us deliver a wide range of exciting residential technology projects across London and Surrey. Applications are invited for a varied and hands-on position within a growing business that prides itself on quality and attention to detail.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
o 2+ relevant years experience required
o Experience with Control4, Crestron, Lutron hugely beneficial
o Installation and integration of high-end audio, video, networking, cinema, lighting, control and security equipment
o Managing a Junior Engineer on and off site, including assigning jobs / tasks and quality-checking work
o Running, managing and terminating low-voltage cabling (category 6, 6A, coaxial, speaker, fibre) within patch panels
o Carrying out client service calls and maintenance visits
o System setup and programming inc. IP/LAN networking and WiFi
o Experience with power tools (drills, multi-cutters etc.) is beneficial
o Following AV schematics to build racks to an exceptional standard
o Work closely with our project managers to deliver projects on-time, on-budget and to the highest standards possible
o On-site commissioning of projects and systems including full demonstrations to clients and their families.
Organisational skills:
o Must be able to keep installation van and workshop clean and tidy & well stocked with essential items
o Must be able to keep tooling organised & when on-site and keep areas of work clean Technical qualities:
o Candidate is expected to have excellent soldering, crimp and termination skills
o Good fault-finding skills to resolve technical issues
o Candidate is expected to have a good understanding of home networking, connectivity and residential technology systems
o Knowledge of the residential construction processes and mechanical systems is beneficial but not essential
o Must have a keen eye for detail, ensuring all work carried out is to an exceptional standard
o Must be competent driving vans, the role demands lots of travel (mainly around the South-East UK but potentially abroad) so candidate must be comfortable with this. Personal qualities:
o Candidate is expected to be clean, tidy, punctual and courteous to other staff and customers
o You must be com with traveling, the role requires lots of driving
o You will be interacting with high-end clients who expect 1st class service so you must be well spoken, polite and presentable
o You will be working in these clients homes, so you must treat these homes with respect, and be careful of your surrounding and their possessions, some of which will be of very high value
o On-site problem solving will be required as well as logical thought and common sense o You will need to be hungry to learn and develop, the smart home industry spans may different skill sets and requires commitment, patience, diligence and attention to detail
Essential skills:
o Eligible to work in the UK
o Full UK driving license required
o 2+ years relevant experience
o Fluent in English
Desirable skills:
o Control4, Lutron Homeworks QS and Crestron certifications hugely beneficial but not essential
o Experience with power tools & practical installation
o Knowledge of computer networking
o Knowledge of JIRA, CAD, SketchUp, InDesign, Composer and Excel
