Database and Storage Architect - Portsmouth - 10/11 Month Contract

My client, a leading technology company are looking for a Database and Storage Architect for a 10/11 month assignment based in Portsmouth. The position can offer from £500-£550 per day and the client are looking to get someone started for late May 2019.

Role Background:The successful candidate will own and delivery the architectural high level designs and low level designs to meet client database and storage requirements.You will also be responsible for maintaining documentation of ongoing storage layout, storage allocation and storage replication.During the assignment you will also provide input into strategic client roadmap for DB2, storage and capacity planning as well as acting as a point of escalation for DB2 issues.

Required Skills:Candidates should have extensive experience DB2 architecture and solutions as well as having a solid understanding of - DS8000 storage server architecture.Prior experience working on AIX/RHEL/VMware/Veritas platforms is also essential.The client has also expressed an interest in speaking with candidates with experience of DB2 High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR) and InfoSphere Data Replication (Q Replication).Prior experience of Database Design, SQL Language, SQL Server and INGRES is also of interest.Synchronous Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy (PPRC) is also highly desirable.Candidates should be eligible and willing to undergo a Financial Services background check prior to going on customer site.
