Our Ideal Candidate:
Essentials
*3+ years experience working with automated testing frameworks and the design of automation testing
*Software testing certification e.g. ISTQB or equivalent
*Both hands on automation experience and possess strong conceptual knowledge of automation frameworks
*Experience using tools to automate desktop software
*Experience in extracting test scenarios, devising test cases and automating these using a range of techniques
*Experience working with an Agile development and testing environment
*Strong background around agile testing concepts and approach
*Passion and drive for test automation and associated toolsets
*Located within a commutable distance to Birchwood, Warrington
Desirables
*BS/BA degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline
SQL experience
*Experience testing web services using tools such as SOAP UI
*Able to interpret and work with XML/JSON
*Experience in working with teams using BDD or TDD
*Experience working with Kanban/scrum agile methodologies
*Experience with participation in agile planning, sprinting and reviews
*Background working with virtual machines and associated configuration
Your Responsibilities:
*In collaboration with the rest of the team, define, maintain, document and execute test cases to drive the quality of the product forwards with each new release
*Design of automated desktop and web based tests to support execution across a range of configurations
*Work as part of dynamic sprint teams to establish an understanding of deliverables, drive quality requirements and ensure that these are met
*Design and execution of manual test cases, demonstrating traceability to source requirements
*Assessment of requirements and deriving of appropriate test scenarios to provide optimal and efficient test coverage
*Provide leadership and mentoring to other team members
*Investigate, analyse and assist in implementing new testing technologies to enhance the quality process
*Collaboration with the team in continuously enhancing QA processes
*Identification of defects followed by clear and concise reporting of such issues
*Strong assessment and effort estimation skills with respect to team deliverables and particularly QA aspects
*Work closely alongside product managers, developers, etc. to ensure the quality of all requirements are suitably met whilst delivered on-time and to-specification
*Maintenance and continuous enhancement of automated test collateral in an ever-evolving product environment
