Assistant Finance Business Partner

My Client are looking for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to provide support to the Finance team within the company. You will assist with all aspects of the management accounts function of the business including, period end reporting, variance analysis and liaising with management on results for staff cost variances and resource planning.The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience and should be AAT qualified or be actively studying towards a CIMA/CCAB professional qualification.Duties:Analyse and review relevant Functional and Departmental staff cost reports and meet with managers to understand and challenge variances.Understand the various revenue streams into the business to ensure where applicable, staff costs are fully recoverable.Provide staffing cost advice and support to internal and external decision makers for business case and cost analysis.Assist in the preparation of periodic, quarterly and annual management accounts for staff cost schedules and analysis for review with heads of department, senior management, and other stakeholdersPrepare accruals and prepayments, providing reconciliations with detail backing to support justification of provisionsSupport the budgeting and forecast process taking ownership of the analysis of staff costs. Ensuring the resource model reflects the latest structure and rostering process to ensure accurate resource planning.Assist in project work as appropriateProvide support with business cases as requiredAny other ad hoc tasks as requested by Senior ManagementReview processes to improve effectiveness and ensure continued developmentPreparation of staff reports & KPI data for internal and external stakeholders on a regular and ad hoc basisMaintenance of the suite of Business Intelligence reports and the data that feeds themDevelop skills and understanding to provide support and cover across other areas of the Finance teamBeneficial:An understanding of the operational environment would be an advantage or proven ability to quickly assimilate complex operational information.Candidates should have experience of providing support beyond the numbers and considering how the financial information supplied impacts on the performance of the business.They should also have experience of reporting complex financial data to non-finance managers.The candidate should also have excellent communication skills and have experience of reporting complex financial data to non-finance managers. You must be able to work well as part of a team as well as working independently.
