Role description -
We are seeking a Big Data Engineer who has the skills and experience to lead a team of engineers providing support and guidance to development teams and consumers on design and problem resolution.
Tasks description -
To lead a team of engineers providing support and guidance to development teams and consumers on design and problem resolution.
The Big Data Platform Engineer will also be required to:-
Be the focal Point for Platform Strategy -- Guidance of the Platform Solution to Engineers.
Be the Technical Management Lead for the EDH Migration to AWS.
AWS Advisor to Engineers and on Strategy.
The Focal Point for all Security Activities and help drive Strategy.
Identify Service Improvements.
Technical Management to progress the `Backlog`.
Carry out DevSecOps Improvements for AWS
Migration/Futures.
Tasks -
Provide general advice and guidance for other team members on general EDH questions. Measure team feedback.
Provide advice on YARN Dynamic Resource Pools configuration and Impala Admission Queues
HDFS Storage optimisation
Provide Guidance on RBAC solution to Engineers
Identify and quantify service improvements within EDH Platform, drive them to delivery. Measure measurable improvements identified and delivered.
Deliver solutions to backlog items identified throughout the year.
