This company are now looking for a motivated Software Architect & Technical Manager to join their growing team.

The candidate will need a strong software development background and be able to architect bespoke software systems and manage a team through the development cycle.

Job Spec:

You'll be responsible for the following:The overall design of software systemsPlan and execute Integration and Test campaignsManagement of the technical teamTechnical point of contact with the clientProduction of documentsPreparation for and presentation of formal technical milestone reviews (e.g. Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review)Responsibility for delivery of technical aspects of the project to schedule, budgeted effort and quality requirements.Preparation of proposals to win new work including:Understanding of the technical requirements and the context within the overall project scope.Specification of the solution, trading off alternativesAccurately estimating the effort required to implement the solution (covering the full life-cycle of the project)Writing clear, concise, technical proposals to express the solution and its benefits to the clientSoftware DevelopmentOn occasion, the role can require hands-on software development support to projectsQualifications/ExperienceDegree in relevant subject with Software Engineering modules or equivalent experienceDesirable Skills:Technical proposal writingRequirements analysisSoftware system design using modern architecturesAccurate software development effort estimationConfiguration management (Git source code control)Knowledge of Space Ground Segment software domains (Control Centres, Earth Observation)Continuous integration/deployment environments (Jenkins)Understanding of virtualisation / cloud based computingWeb application development (javascript, HTML/CSS, JQuery, PHP, Python)Web content management (Drupal / PHP)Big Data Processing & Frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)Scripting (e.g perl, python)
