Shore Integration Facility Installation Engineer
Working within the Shore Integration Team, you will be part of the team involved in the testing and integration of new equipment destined for the Naval fleet. All equipment comes here before deploying onto ships. Working from a purpose built facility in Portsdown Technology Park, the team are involved in both large scale system integrations through to smaller upgrades of minor systems. The team work across a range of equipment including Sonar, Radar, Radio's, Server's.
Undertake the roles and responsibilities of the Installation Technical Lead for the Shore Integration Facility.
Attend the Installation Design Reviews (IDR) for the Shore Integration Facility
To investigate the requirements for installation/de-installation of equipment into the SIF and plan the activity into the NCSISS programme, liaising with relevant stakeholders as required.
To manage the installation or de-installation of equipment safely and in accordance with JSP604 and to meet the requirements in accordance with NATO SDIP-29/1, Def Stan 21-88 and Def Stan 02-40.
Working with the Shore Integration Facility Project Manager for the delivery of installations.
Co-ordinate with the Engineering Services Manager for the provision of the Electrical and Mechanical fitters to undertake the installation.
To instigate & manage the production of Installation Guidance Packages by the SWSE Engineers, providing all necessary information to enable accurate documentation at Level 4 detail to be generated in accordance with Def Stan 02-40.
To conduct safety assessments, producing the necessary documentation as required, ensuring
Knowledge, skills and personal qualities required:
* Minimum Level 5 National Qualification Framework (HNC/HND/ Foundation Degree) in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline. * Experience of Royal Navy equipment in a Maintainer or Combat Systems Management or Weapon Engineering Officer role. * Experience of RN Ship Combat System outfitting either in a new build or Refit activity. * Experience of Setting To Work and Integration proving trials e.g. NWHT, HATs etc. * Sound knowledge and understanding of SWSE engineering. * Working At Height Training * Undertake Risk Assessments
