The role is based in our client's Technology Group which includes an analytics team that are responsible for the analysis of telecommunication networks and infrastructure. The team produces information that supports our client's Connected Nations report, Application Programming Interface (API) products, interactive online and smartphone app products and provides input to other teams.
Purpose of the Role
The role will administrate the exchange of data with stakeholders and to undertake directed data processing, quality assurance and analysis activities. The role will also support the implementation of changes to the data collection and analysis process as a result of our client's emerging Data Strategy, which will further develop the business as an insight-driven organisation.
Requirements of the Role
- Administration of the secure file transfer environment and accounts
- Undertaking extract, transform and load of data sets
- Undertaking quality checks and preliminary analysis
- Building accessible data for further analysis
- Performing analysis of the data using, spatial, visual and analytics software
- Maintaining and updating procedural materials
- Ensuring compliance with relevant information security principles
Skills, knowledge and experience
- Able to collect, collate, cleanse, synthesise and interpret data to derive meaningful and actionable insights
- Can use file transfer environments and software
- Able to communicate technical concepts across organisational and technical boundaries
- Able to work under pressure and complete multiple tasks correctly and to deadline
- Able to work independently, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, and support a culture of collaboration and trust
- Able to identify risks, escalating when necessary
- Understands security, accessibility and version control
- Understands how to expose data from systems
- Understands core technical concepts of programming, database design and function
- Awareness of mobile and fixed telecommunications networks
- Experience of information management and collection processes
- Experience of data profiling and source system analysis
- Experience in presenting clear insights to colleagues to support the end use of the data
Qualifications
- Technically qualified in a computer science subject or with equivalent experience
