Due to continued growth one of Oliver James clients working within the Lloyds of London Insurance Market are looking to recruit an experienced Applications Developer to join their team based in the City of London to assist them with the development of some business critical Applications. The succesful candidate will be responsible for the building, maintenance and support of our IT systems and services. This opportunity would suit somebody keen to develop their skillset and embrace working with new technologies.

Playing a key role in the delivery of our IT strategy you will work on a number of initiatives, from policy administration systems to new digital services, with an initial focus on .NET applications. Using your technical knowledge you will design, develop and deliver software based solutions diagnosing any problems that arise and recommending solutions before they are actioned and released.

With a relevant degree, or equivalent experience in the delivery of browser based applications, you will have excellent in delivering customer facing applications and / or the design and delivery of back end processes and services. You will have an excellent understanding of software security best practices and related risks and you will have previously designed and delivered secure solutions in a commercial environment. You should also be accustomed to working to tight deadlines in an ever changing environment.

The technical skills required for this position are VB / C#, .NET, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Transact - SQL. You will also ideally have experience of SQL Server, SSRS and Rest / JSON. +
