The Role...

The expectations placed on this role will be met by an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) developer who is capable of leading and delivering Power BI projects using a range of Microsoft BI tools, including; Power BI, SQL, Office, and SharePoint.

The candidate should have demonstrable experience of developing and delivering successful Power BI solutions.

Working as part of an established team, the role holder will be expected to:

deliver Power BI solutions that encompass the full project lifecycle including the capturing of user and data requirements, data analysis, translating data requirements into effective and intuitive data models, report and dashboard development, user testing and the handover of solutions to customer teams;

deliver support work to customers and internal staff;

carry out detailed data analysis, and in some cases establish an understanding of highly complex data sets;

develop effective and intuitive data models to support report and dashboard development;

carry out occasional data cleansing and data migration activities;

develop reports and dashboards that present data and insights in the most concise and effective form;

perform testing, and document various elements of the implementation as required; or

facilitate solution handovers that will also promote internally defined BI best practice within the customer organisation

Skills Required...

Essential

Power BI

SSRS

SQL Query

Transact SQL

DAX and SSAS

Desirable

SSIS and MDX development skills

SSAS (multi-dimensional mode)

A working knowledge of other BI tools particularly; Tableau, Qlikview, Cognos and SAP Business Objects

Experience of managing projects and related resources

A working knowledge of public sector / health care sector data sets

A working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint

Travel...

Travel to customer sites will be expected within the U.K. Typically this is 1-2days every other week, with the occasional need to stay overnight. However, the amount of travel is dictated by the individual project and customer.

Candidates must have a right to work in the United Kingdom.
