Senior Application Support Analyst - Stevenage - Permanent - £30K - £34K Per Annum.
The Company
An experienced Application Support Analyst is required by a government body, based in Stevenage.
The Role
This position is to support, upgrade and implement the line of business applications which support the major business functions and activities across the business and organisations it has partnered with to provide IT Services.
Responsibilities
*Adapting, developing, designing and maintaining line of business ICT systems for the organisation such as (but not limited to) the Housing Management System or the Finance system. These will be systems acquired from third party suppliers or created bespoke by the organisation.
*Responding to problems and incidents where line of business applications are not functioning as designed and this is impacting the day-to-day operations of the organisation. The post holder will be expected to use problem-solving skills investigate, collate and analyse complex technical information to identify the appropriate action. This includes ensuring the availability of the organisation's relational database management systems that support the applications resolving problems where possible and escalating more complex issues when required.
*Proactive maintenance of line of business applications including performing upgrades, applying patches, checking system logs, modifying backups and supporting periodic business procedures (e.g. year-end processing).
*Develop and / or implement new ICT systems in response to new or changing business requirements. This will often involve implementing third party systems but might also include developing business solutions using existing software tools such as Business Objects.
