Medical Device start up seeks Senior Optical Sensor Engineer to join our core team.This individual will be responsible for the design and development of fibre optic sensors. They will be a hands-on technical contributor and will work alongside experts in medical device engineering, microfabrication, manufacturing, quality and clinical disciplines to bring pioneering cardiovascular medical devices to patient benefit.Your key responsibilities will include:Execution of diverse tasks related to the development of fibre optic sensors: from concept and development through their integration into a commercialised medical deviceDefine, develop, and document requirements and their corresponding evaluation procedures within a QMSGenerate and document test protocolsDesign and build sensor elements, and evaluate themCommunicate with external vendors/partners and identify and build relationships with new ones as requiredWork closely with cross-functional teams and individuals across the companyStay up to date with cutting-edge technology trends, communicate them in the company, and investigate their feasibility for current and future productsThe successful candidate will have:2+ years with design, development and integration of optical systemsExpertise in handling fibre-opticsFluency in Matlab and similar engineering development toolsIdeally, you will also be experienced with:Fibre optic sensors systems, preferably those involving interferometryMicrofabricationSignal processing, with Matlab, Python, or equivalent toolsMedical device developmentEducation:PhD or Master degree in Electrical and/or Biomedical Engineering preferredOptical Engineering, Physics, and other similar fields are acceptable with relevant experience To find out more about Real please visit www.realstaffing.comReal Staffing, a trading division of SThree Partnership LLP is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy| Registered office | 1st Floor, 75 King William Street, London, EC4N 7BE, United Kingdom | Partnership Number | OC387148 England and Wales
